Jacob Hertz

My name is Jacob Hertz and I’m a Sophomore here at BYU Majoring in Biochemistry and Minoring in Arabic. I originally grew up in Riverside, California and later moved to the Northwest Arkansas Area. In high school my favorite sports were fencing and soccer and at the time was a bit of a board game nut! After graduating I served a two-year mission in Los Angeles, California where I had the opportunity to learn Spanish and Persian. I have loved my experience at BYU so far and am very excited to work in the Price Lab and to work with so many other students and individuals who are passionate about their work. My goals after graduating from BYU are to attend medical school and eventually become a pediatric surgeon and also doing volunteer work in the Middle East by providing medical care to refugees and communities affected by poverty and political instability through Doctors Without Borders or a similar program
